Welcome to the St. Vincent's Home Tribute Page

Over the years, St. Vincent's has changed quite a bit.  This page is a compilation of
articles that documents those changes and showcases all of the work done by the staff
and management of St. Vincent's since it was purchased by Wayne Messick in 1990.

It all began for Wayne in September 1990, when he was able to purchase St. Vincent's Home at an auction.

Wayne held a grand re-opening of St. Vincent's Home in May of 1991.

It wasn't too much later that Wayne was able to purchase the Christian Shelticenter (The Old Original St. Vincent's Home)
located at 1340 North 10th Street in order to pave the way for Katherine Casper Village Independent living units.

The first Independent Living Units went up during the mid 1990's and Catherine Kasper Village was created.  The Bishop
came to bless each unit.

Sister Florence wrote an article about the developments at STV in 1995.

In 1997 construction began on a new wing to the East.  The addition created additional resident rooms,
an activity area and office, and an expanded Physical Therapy / Occupational Therapy area to name a few.
The pitched roof on the main part of our building was added at this time too.

In 1998 we were able to officially open our expanded facility and again the Bishop was able to celebrate with us
to dedicate the addition.

Wayne paved the way for the creation of what is now Casita Catherine Assisted Living, but did not live to see it's
completion in 2002.

And this is how St. Vincent's Home looks today.
